OnePlus and BOE are collaborating
October 24 is when OnePlus and its parent company Oppo will introduce a new display manufactured by BOE . According to Digital Chat Station, the new panel will be exceptionally bright. So much so that it was announced that the 1440p (2K) resolution screen will reach 3,000 nits of brightness, and the 1220p panel will even exceed this threshold, which seems too much to our eyes.
According to OnePlus, its Open foldable smartphone can reach 1,400 nits maximum brightness and 2,800 nits peak. However, the tests showed that the highest achievable brightness was slightly lower. The new panel will also support 2160 Hz PWM dimming (up from 1440 Hz on current panels) and Single Pulse DC.
The announcement will be made on the same day that Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Therefore, another development that closely concerns users can be mentioned. It is certain that the company’s newly introduced OnePlus 12 phone will include Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Considering that the screen whose features we mentioned will be introduced on the same date as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, there is a possibility that OnePlus 12 will have this screen.
The custom-made display is said to offer a better experience than Samsung’s AMOLED panels in various departments such as color accuracy, brightness and eye protection. The collaboration also suggests that the Find X7 series may have the same display.
It is also among the information received that the next models of the Ace series, consisting of Ace 3, Ace 3V and Ace 3 Pro, will have a 1.5K screen with a higher peak brightness exceeding 3000 nits. So it looks like OnePlus will continue its development in terms of screen.
